InAkustik REFERENZ NF-1603 XLR (1.0M) 

Due to the large effective overall surface of the six high-speed signal conductors, the Reference NF-1603 becomes a powerful high-end link. At the same time, the DUO-PE II insulation and the air-filled PE tubes reduce unwanted capacitance and enable the signal source to work comfortably. The GAP II screening of the NF-1603 is a combination of lacquer-insulated wires and an aluminium-coated film with an air gap. The screening prevents the formation of interfering eddy currents. Another highlight of the third-generation is the GAP II cinch plugs, which ensure three-way symmetry in this connection. As an alternative, this cable is also available as an XLR version. The PE network jacket also prevents micro-vibrations.

"Obtaining the last little bit of quality." At the beginning of the 1980s, when many an exotic high-end device was developed and built in some garage, there were often situations in which certain amplifier or loudspeaker combinations only sounded right with certain cables, for example. But the era of do-it-yourself hi-fi systems is over.

Today we have completely different parts and technologies at our disposal. Entire teams of engineers use these to develop first-class high-end components whose weaknesses now no longer need to be corrected through cable parameters. On the one hand, it's almost a shame. On the other hand, the sound potential of the new device generations is enormous and puts other, higher demands on the cables. That makes things exciting for us.

How do you tease out the last bit of quality from the components? No idea is too crazy for us in this regard. But we have so far always had the best experience with development based on the fundamentals of electrical engineering and physics. We can now make very good predictions of the sound direction in which a cable will go. The first phase of development involves unfettered drafting, brainstorming and calculating. Ideas are sometimes discarded and reconceived until detailed technical drawings can be created from the designs. For development and implementation, it is very helpful that our company group has its own cable mill at its disposal. In our in-house finishing plant, we can also build and perfect prototypes."
