High-end network cable
Strictly speaking, "digital" exists only in mathematics as a binary number system. In technical reality, there are no purely digital signals. To identify zeros and ones, electrical voltage thresholds and time windows are defined. When switching from zero to one or vice versa, the signal passes through all intermediate values — for example, from 0 volts to 5 volts. Capacitive loads, dielectric losses, noise, and electromagnetic interference caused by the cable additionally affect this transition. This results in timing deviations, known as jitter, which complicates the precise reconstruction of the audio signal.
The Reference CAT 8.1 cable is a LAN cable specifically designed for connecting high-end components in a home network. An additional shielding mesh, the so-called hyper-shield, protects the sensitive signals from electromagnetic interference. Furthermore, each data pair is individually shielded with an additional foil layer. This combination effectively reduces interference and supports streaming players and built-in digital-to-analog converters (DACs) in reproducing the audio signal with minimal loss and maximum precision.
This ensures that the Reference CAT 8.1 cable provides a stable and high-performance connection - ideal for demanding audio and video streams in a home network.
